A Little Information on Lubes

As we all know there are a lot of lubricants for sale and a question, I always wonder is which one do I chose and why?  Sometimes we need to know whether they are safe to use with toys or what is better for men or woman.  We also need to know what lubes are harmful to our toys.  Here is a little guide to help with your choice.

Water-based

These lubes are all purpose and can be used with all toys without harming them. They are slippery and light/thin and can be rinse off easily.  The only downside to this is they dry out more quickly however you reapply to solve this issue.  Another helpful tip is it does not stain sheets or clothing.

Oil-based

Key thing to remember when using this lube is that it cannot be used with latex condoms as they break down the latex.  This lubricant is a lot thicker than other lubes.  Prefect for all types of sexual play and great for genital massages and last a lot longer.

Silicone-based

By far this is the longest lasting lube and is safe to use with condoms.  Perfect for hot steamy shower play as the lube is thick and glossier and holds up against water.  If you have silicone toys avoid this type of lubricant as it may damage the material.

When should you use Lube

Using lubricant is perfect for foreplay as it is a great way to get you in the mood for some sexual and sensual loving.  You can use as much or as little as you like.  Apply lubricant right before penetration. Using lube is safe before and during sex or when you are enjoying some solo play.

Note for Women:  When a woman is sexually aroused her vagina normally lubricates itself!

Note for Men: It is really important to use lube during anal sex.  There are specific types of lubricant especially available for anal play as they tend to last longer and not dry out as quick.

I hope this has helped you get a little understanding of specific lubricants and which ever one you choose to make sure you enjoy and have fun!!
